About The Designer

Taylor Marriner

“Art expresses how we view life in the mediums that we understand to communicate in. My goal in using fashion design as a medium is to convey messages that are applicable to the ever-changing world around us. Much of my work under The Art of Living provides insight into my perspective on various aspects of societal triumphs and challenges. After all, art is everywhere in life and living in and of itself is an art.

Taylor is an artistic designer that operates in both a creative and analytical way. She graduated from The University of Missouri – Columbia in May of 2023 where she excelled in her studies in the Textile and Apparel Management (TAM) and Business programs. Her education focused on both the product development and digital merchandising sides of the fashion industry. Originally from the Chicagoland area, Taylor grew up with an admiration for the city’s fast-paced environment, diversity of people and how they chose to express themselves, and the feeling of being a part of something bigger than herself.

Out of college, she began pursuing a tech startup for the planning and visualization of tattoos and continues to work with luxury Italian brands after her college internship in Milan. Taylor’s experience in a range of job titles has given her a unique perspective that considers different aspects of what makes a business successful including its marketing, retail experience, and the importance of an online presence. Through her applied studies, she is also proficient in sewing, draping, pattern making, textile and garment quality, and Adobe software.

These skills, paired with her passionate and driven nature, make her a dynamic force as she works toward a career in fashion design. Taylor’s business and design approaches are thoughtful and genuine. She takes great pride in the research and foundation of her work including ethical, sustainable, and inclusive design. Beyond her work, Taylor finds joy in traveling and reading. Traveling affords her the opportunity to gain perspective and appreciation for the planet and other cultures, while reading feeds her infinite hunger for knowledge.
